POCKET CHANGE

Cash paper, green backdrop, for solemn face of money –
A nickel or a dime, fifty cents no time, no space, no spare change;
Silver, gold, tin, some zinc; toy cars & tops line a deep pocket –
Over the park on a bright sunny day is a rainbow,
Joy and laughter sprinkled with a question is in the wind,
The riches are whispered to have gathered there somewhere;

What I ponder, others too – commons & scholars, is where is somewhere?
This issue of spendable art, this stackable paper stash called money,
Flowing into cash registers, vaults, purses – smoke and mirrors and wind;
A tree, priceless and rich, cut and hewn, makes some change,
Colorful harmony, cardinal color the arc of wealth is rainbow –
Bow down; empty your full hearts take life cast into your pocket,

Now read that news paper New York daily times call you empty pocket
Listen to moving little caged people tell you to panic, somewhere
You wonder about this as truth; your fingers know touch of a rainbow,
Can we believe there is no sun, no shine, no rainwater, no money?
Brussels sprouts, green beans, potatoes, tomatoes, seeds make change;
Fill your coffers, empty all sins, let worry float into wind –

Soon, right now, you can see that green paper, call it from wind
Let it fill your hands, your need, let it fill your pocket
When full with satisfaction, when want is quenched make change,
Look at all you love, see all that loves you be somewhere
Share, enjoy color, live sound, be light, paint your money –
Pretty pictures all in a row, beautiful faces speaking rainbow;

Summer over rivers, winter mountains too, reflect rainbow
Confetti gathers in airs gust, spendable paper is in the wind
Call it what you will, only play ball, move chips, pieces, pawns money,
Exchange happiness, laughter, owing, forgive, empty and fill the pocket,
In a moment of stillness any, seconds multiplied realize this somewhere
Now know who we are, know immutably there is plenty change,

As solids dissolve – your arms, legs, torso, thinking mind – become change,
Absolute purity owns everything, smell this hue in us a rainbow,
An essence, iota of flotsam big as bold being somewhere –
This is everywhere a rumor, a story, a lie, a truth in the wind
Yes, we got it, holding our own heart we know we in your pocket
Safe as illusion, priceless, eternal, affordable, here’s the money!

Me no want to change the sound of wind play today,
Let it whistle through Rainbow Somewhere far off the horizon
While in my pocket your money sings plenty, reach in, reach in.

SAME HEART

Mysterious creatures these,
Happiness: sadness,
Twins born of the same heart;
One you run toward,
The other you hurry from;

Always know they are inseparable,
Always live with both;

What can give enormous elation,
Can leave a heart feeling ripped,
Torn asunder;

Take joy from twin’s antics,
Let passion remember calm when
Riding wild waves.

HeartMind

My first language is heart; writing poetry is my heart speaking translated into words,
mostly the English language. Kokoro, a Japanese word meaning "heartmind", as close
as I can get in English, is what poetry is for me.

All my writing: fiction, essays, academic, journalistic has the pulse of poetry at root.
Writing for me, when put onto paper or when it is living in my being as composition, is
breath, it is life, it is communication and conversation, it is sharing and receiving.

Writing, speaking, hearing, drawing and moving are connected and are catalyst for each
other. I love sound word. In writing, I share who I am, offer my thoughts and opinions,
programs and any wish to persuade from heartmind clarity seeking clarity.

Thank you for inviting this sharing; it is life, it is communication and conversation, it is
sharing and receiving.

Writing, speaking, hearing, drawing and moving are connected and are catalyst for each
other. I love sound word.
