One
Spring 2
At this moment another sun
rides its fierce chariot,
showering its scorching dust
on millions of heads in Hyderbad.
Here I in clogs, and sweats, in
a Westchester backyard
writing always with the ink
of another world.

Usha Akella has had a book of poems published in India (... Kali Dances. So Do I...) and
some of her poems are due to be published in Catamaran Magazine. She is the founder of
the Poetry Caravan, funded in part by Poets & Writers, and plans to publish an anthology
of the Poetry Caravan poets in early 2005. She won the 2004 Greenburgh Supporter of the
Arts Award.
