registered in New York. After the tragic events begun on September 11, 2001, several New
York- based writers and artists decided to create Movement One as an organization that
would bridge the gaps between the different cultural communities in New York. Movement
One: Creative Coalition creates and supports arts and educational programs that promote
inter-cultural work. As well, the coalition works with artists and writers who have been
marginalized and seeks to create cultural and educational programs for marginalized
communities.
Movement One is comprised of artists and writers who believe that the world need not be a
violent place. Amongst the coalition's members are internationally acclaimed poets,
musicians and artists who believe that through artistic exchange a new world is possible.
